PUNJAB Care for all: Billions spent on health in Southern Punjab, Shehbaz says

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said hospitals have been established with latest equipment in Southern Punjab so that patients could be facilitated with standard healthcare.

While addressing a meeting to review healthcare facilities in South Punjab on Friday, the chief minister said hospitals have been provided with latest equipment worth billions of rupees to facilitate patients. “No stone will be left unturned in provision of quality health facilities to the people,” he said.

“Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases is equipped with latest machinery with the hard-earned money of public,” he added.

He said the new building of children hospital Multan would provide people of southern Punjab with most recent therapeutic facilities, however, it’s the responsibility of particular authorities to make them useful and let the patients benefit from the investment of billions rupees done by the Punjab government.

He directed the team of specialists to visit Multan at earliest and present their recommendations to operationalise the new building of a children hospital. Shehbaz said he was answerable to people of his province so he would not be satisfied until individuals demonstrate their trust on the medical facilities provided at hospitals.

Shehbaz expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Sajjada Nasheen Golra Sharif Pir Jilaluddin.

While expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the chief minister prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and may Allah grant strength to the grieved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

Later, the chief minister lauded the bravery of a security guard who sacrificed his life and foiled a robbery bid at a medical store in People’s Colony, Faisalabad. He said the deceased security guard has set a high precedent of fulfilling his duty.

He vowed to provide justice to the bereaved family. He directed the authorities to arrest the suspect at the earliest and sought report of the incident from CPO Faisalabad.
